Pete Karkut

Yesterday evening, in the grand setting of the Green room here at Chelsea college, we said a fond farewell to our friend and colleague Pete Karkut who, after more than fifteen years working at the college, has retired. As digital media technician, Pete has helped countless students realise their projects. After a gap of some thirty years, he is now currently working on a follow up album to his 1984 'Hemp is Here' by his band, Leven Signs. He is collaborating with Digitalis boss Brad Rose, in production of a new album 'Leven Codex' which, fingers crossed, will be released sometime in the Autumn. You can find out much more by visiting Pete's website http://www.tonalscan.com/index.html
Below are some images taken from last night party and further links to his work.

All the best Pete from the Wood Workshop team.

That's Pete.
A still taken from a piece of work by Pete, 'Bubbles on hilly fields'. Check it out here, http://vimeo.com/16690361
Setting up a few minutes before the off. It's not a party without balloons!
The crowd grows and understandably, beelines for the refreshments!
Pete makes his entrance to rapturous applause.
Well deserved!
Pete surveys the room and it would appear tries to blend in with the carpet!
In full swing now.
Everyones wanted a little piece of Pete last night.
Pete has a passion for donkeys, don't ask, and as such there were a great deal present.
Weng tucked into the food and Phil, as always, put away the booze. Things never change!
Stef just stood back and admired it all.
