This page is dedicated to students and staff that have worked closely with us here in the Wood workshop, in the fabrication of their work. We hope you enjoy the work as much as we have enjoyed seeing it made!


No3. Aaron Mcpeake
Aaron, nearing the end of his PhD, has been part of the 3D Workshop culture here at Chelsea, for what seems like forever. He works with numerous media from bronze casting to film, photography and sound. His work places emphasis on the possibility for many types of readings and he views the process of making artwork as akin to writing poetry - where the visual imagination is integral to both its making and reception. We have had the pleasure of helping him with several elements of his work in our Wood Workshop. Below are some images taken from his recent show 'Nibbling at Clouds'. No2. Adam De Boer
Adam is currently studying at Chelsea on the MA Fine Art. He has worked with us in the Wood workshop on several projects. His most recent being this moveable double sided panel, housing two of his paintings. His work has strong connections to his Fathers family origins of Central Java, Indonesia. The framing that he uses in his work sown here, has been hand carved by craftsmen back in Java.  For more information about Adam visit http://adamdeboer.com/home.html 


We produced the axles with help from the Lathe
Wheels and axles
We then turned detail into the wheels


Finally the centers were drilled out fully
Having attached the frame, Adam then located the base plate
The final structure ready to roll and ready to add the paintings




With the paintings added, Adam curated a small show of his work




















No1. Wang Chao
Wang joined us from the China Academy of Arts, where he is currently on his 2nd year of a 3 year MA, for a 3 month exchange. He has graced us with his polite diligence and amazed us with his functioning wooden models. These images were taken from a small show he put on to mark the end of his time at Chelsea. Our loss is Chinas gain!
