After a couple of weeks of putting our workshop back into shape after the MA students have departed, it's that time of year again when we welcome the students back and meet the new ones. In between group orientations we have seen a steady flow of students heading in to start their making. Below are some images taken from the last few days.
Lots of this in the past few days. Weng explains to the new ISD Graduate Diploma students how things work with us in the Wood Workshop
The parts of ISD 3rd year Gabriella's model coming together.
Gluing in the moving reflective discs
The finished piece ready to go get tested with a strong breeze.
Some tricky angles being worked out.
The library will benefit from these planters just as soon as they get filled with some lovely plants
Fine Art graduate Mimi Winsor is back in the Wood workshop, having won the This Is This art commission. Her piece entitled Grinding the Wind will be on display in the chelsea parade ground until early November.
Weng seems to be doing all the work!
Mimi putting the finishing touches to the piece in the less then favourable conditions.
Some experimental vacuum forming seems to be coming out rather well.
