The Final Hurdle

So we only have a few days left to go until the BA degree show is ready for viewing here at Chelsea College. The last final hurdles we refer to here in the Wood Workshop tend to take the form of large display furniture such as tables and plinths to show off the student work. With Fine Art all but done last Wednesday its fallen to the Graphics and Interior Design courses to keep us on our toes over the past few days. We really are looking forward to seeing all of the students hard work showcased over the next week. Below are some images taken over the past few days.

Students from BA Interior Design begin construction of their numerous display boxes
MA student Jamie takes on the job of building the BA Graphics display bar.
Lots more plinths have been made in these past few days
The final filling and sanding of the MDF ring
Glueing together the sides of this acrylic display case.
The ring was constructed in two halves. Now it was time to move them to the gallery space.
A very happy gang of Graphics student and Dave admire the ring structure.
A very simple wooden frame was made with the students from Graduate Diploma Interior Design
And then moved to the Banquet Hall to be worked on for the final show.
FDA Interior students add the finishing touches to their display structure. Its amazing what you can achieve in a day with a little  perseverance!
We were visited yesterday by a very lovely Puma!
Its hard not to miss it but in its final place and painted the ring is looking very impressive.
