Happy Halloween to you all! Nothing particularly scary in the Wood Workshop in the past few days. Just a steady flow of students making their work. This week has seen the beginning of the 1st Year Graphics project that will run with us over the next few Mondays and Fridays where they each set out to make a letter from a particular type face, as beautifully as they can. Some images of the first group with us can be seen below along with examples of other students work.

With the new term well under way now, we are starting to see some interesting work taking shape here in the Wood Workshop. Its been a good opportunity to flex our muscles ahead of a more demanding and challenging time to come. Most courses have now had their orientation where we meet the new students and introduce them to our facilities and so gradually they are finding their way to us to turn many of their thoughts and ideas into three dimensional work. Below are some images taken from the past week.

Currently on show in the Rootstein Hopkins Parade Ground here at Chelsea College is a piece of work created by BA Fine Art graduate Alicia Fidler. Titled 'Faill' the work was funded be another of Chelsea Colleges graduates from a few years back, James Paul White. Although an externally produced piece of work it still required the skills of our man Phil, from the Wood Workshop, to help with the finer intricate assembly.
The new start to the academic year got off to a bang with the students from BA Fine Art given just 48 hours to produce work for a show. Several of them ventured in to see us in the Wood Workshop and we were all intrigued to see the results. What a great idea to get the students going straight off and interacting with their spaces and each other. Below are some images taken form the show set up in their personal studio spaces.
