The other evening Stef invited the students from the 1 year Interior Design Graduate Diploma, to join him for a session of model making. They looked at working with various types of wood and plastic in many abstract ways for the purpose of creating Architectural Model details.
Much of the evening was spent showing how various materials can be manipulated with often dramatic effects
Architectural model scale was an important topic with a close look at how many materials can be used with great effect to produce lovely textures and finishes.

More Tasty Feedback
We certainly don't mind this sort of feedback regularly being delivered. Cant say its helping any of us keeping our slim waistlines, but it is much appreciated nonetheless!
Not only a bag full of goodies for Phil, but we each received a piece of work, in the background, by Wang Chao who you can see featured in our Artist Profile page, on the right.
A delicious homemade Lemon Drizzle cake! Happy days!!

FDA Interior Design induction morning.
The guys from the FDA Interior Design course joined us for a morning of induction and making. The morning ended with them all getting hands on and using some of the equipment to make some interlocking shapes. Of course we turned it into a competition with the best teams winning a prize!
The day begins with aprons on. Got to look the part!
Stef with a captivated audience, gets going with the introduction.
John with a captivated audience talks about some of our electric hand tools
Phil with a captivated audience (they were good) explains the bandsaw....
and then the pillar drill.
The students then get to use the machinery.
Gradually their pieces come together, literally!
They were all winners in our eyes! Should say that really, they were a nice bunch!!
