BA ISD Workshop Induction days

We run these sessions for the ISD 1st years ahead of their first making project. Each group spends half the day with us, learning about the workshop, our tools, machines and processes. They finish the session with a small making project so as to get them familiar with machine use immediately. Below is a selection of images taken from some of the sessions.

Group 4 ready to start their session. And they smiled the most!

Stretcher making afternoon.

During the induction period, John and Phil ran a stretcher making session for the BA Fine Art painters. It was an in depth look at the process of taking the raw materials through to a completed stretcher frame followed by the technique of applying the canvas to the frame.

Below is a series of images taken from the past year. It includes students that have worked with us from courses throughout the college both at under graduate and post graduate level. As always its been good fun and busy, but the work produced remains of great quality with creative excellence. Perhaps if you are with us in the workshop, your work will also appear on our blog soon!
