Following last weeks sneak peak at the show, below is a more comprehensive journey around the Post Graduate Show . We think the show was a huge success and wish the students well for the future, many of whom will join us next year on the MA.

Many of the students have spent time in the Wood Workshop and we have really enjoyed helping them with their work. Our own QR Code
We have all seen these strange black and white symbols around so we thought we would have one too! A QR or quick response code allows anyone with a smart phone with a QR decoder app to go direct to a website or blog. We will put these around the college and perhaps a little more further afield. Give it a go and keep an eye out.
This past week
In what will be the final full week of making for the students on the Post Graduate Diploma, our workshop has remained steady with activity. Next Friday will be their show which we certainly feel could be a good one. Below are a few images taken from this past week.
Some delicate carving taking place
The Styrofoam column nearly there
Glued hardwood which will be turned on the lathe when ready
Its done!
Studio model being re made in the workshop out of MDF
Oak light boxes glueing
Many tricky angles in this piece of work
The workshop appears to have shrunk a little!
and more blue foam!

Time to breathe a little.
Following the frenzy of activity that was the degree show build up we are now enjoying calmer waters here in the Wood Workshop as the Post Graduate students work towards their completion. Below is a selection of work currently under way here with us
That's an impressive piece of sanding!
Canvas covered boxes waiting for a paint cover
A line of legs.
Moulds in the making for later casting.
Circle forming on the hot wire cutter
A box lined ready for a plaster skim
A Styrofoam column taking shape
That is one heck of a door wedge!!
