Chelsea College Postgraduate Summer Show 2015

So after a summer of relentless making in the Wood Workshop, here at Chelsea College, we finally get to see what all the fuss has been about as the Postgraduate students show their work. There is certainly much to see and with much diversity. That comes as no surprise with work having been produced from five different disciplines, Fine Art, Graphic Design Communication, Interior & Spatial Design, Textile Design and Curating & Collection. The show runs until Thursday 10th September.
Over this next week we will highlight these areas and post some photos from the show. Starting with....

Were almost there.

As we approach the middle of August it means just one thing. The Wood workshop is a busy place to be. With just a couple of weeks to go many of the students studying their MA's here at Chelsea College are frantically trying to get their work completed and there is blood, sweat and tears in abundance. There is a real buzz about the place as we see some very interesting pieces being constructed. We are all looking forward to seeing the results. Below are some images taken from the past week or so.

Laying Down Some Beats

So the other day us chaps from the Wood Workshop joined the rest of the 3D Workshop team and headed to South Bermondsey to create our own piece of music at Rogue Studios. Under the guise of Staff Development it was always going to be one of those days that brought out some interesting creative noise making from the gang and even those a little more sceptical seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience.  For more info about Rogue Studios go to http://www.roguestudios.co.uk Below are some images taken from the day and a chance to listen to the finished track.

The team settling in to the cosy studio and preparing to make some noise.
Stef often likes to blow his own trumpet but on this occasion he let his bike do the talking.
Francis impresses us all with his nimble fingers tinkling the ivories.
Falcon gives us his version of Greensleeves.
Our mixing man Alisio gets to work editing our early sounds.
It's too much for Frank as he breaks into spontaneous dance.
Groupie Sara could hardly contain her excitement at being around the band.
Things start to get more serious now at the editing stage with Phil pondering were to place his drill noises.
It was certainly a day of mixed emotions.
At the sharp end now and Francis gives the final edit some thought.
It doesn't get more 'rock n' roll' than these two.
