Autumnal offerings

Despite storms, fireworks and fire alarms there seems little to dampen the spirit of the students as the Wood Workshop is seeing some real creativity and experimentation as we head deep into the first term. There has been a lovely buzz about the place over these first few weeks so long may that continue. Below are some images taken from the past days

The first few days of term

After a couple of weeks of putting our workshop back into shape after the MA students have departed, it's that time of year again when we welcome the students back and meet the new ones. In between group orientations we have seen a steady flow of students heading in to start their making. Below are some images taken from the last few days.

Fine Art graduate Mimi Winsor is back in the Wood workshop, having won the This Is This art commission. Her piece entitled Grinding the Wind will be on display in the chelsea parade ground until early November.

That Which Is Unseen

As the new BA year begins, the Wood Workshop team start with a heartfelt and well deserved congratulations to MA Interior Design graduate Reuben Nanda for his recent award for his fabulous film 'That Which Is Unseen'. We enjoyed helping him through much of his time at Chelsea as he worked on various camera rigs and structures.
At end of September his film won the best experimental short film award in the Architectural film festival in Lisbon. The film will now go on tour worldwide.

MA Show. Our Top Picks

So as the dust settles following the take down of the MA show we take a second to reflect and reveal our top picks from the show. There was a great deal of impressive work to choose from but our final decisions reflect a thoroughly diverse and interesting year of work.
