MA Show 2013

So following a year of effort on the part of the MA students here at Chelsea we finally get to see what they have been busy creating. Once again it has proven to be an exciting show with a fabulously diverse body of work. Congratulations to you all and to those that have worked alongside us in the Wood Workshop. Its the final run in for the MA students here at Chelsea College and its still all go in with us in the Wood Workshop. There are lots of interesting things being made and several very ambitious pieces. Lets hope they get everything finished. Below are some images taken from the past week.

Half Time

So we reach the half way point in the month of August, which means the final push from the MA students here at Chelsea College is well under way. Along with finalising work and in some cases starting work, it is also the time to build plinths, walls and all things else related to their show. It's going to be a vibrant and hectic time for us over the next few weeks but hopefully the results will be worth it. Below are a selection of images taken from the past week.

Our Sizzling Summer

Well its certainly been a hot July and the temperatures have been high in the Wood Workshop here at Chelsea as the several of the MA students feverishly build their work. There are not many weeks to go now until the work has to be completed so its all go. Below are a few images taken form the past 2 weeks.

We cycled to Paris!

So after 500 km of cycling in temperatures that hovered around 33 degrees and reached 37, Stef and Phil rolled into Paris with many more new friends, stopping all traffic as their group cycled around the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs Elysees, along the river Siene and on to finish at the Eiffel Tower ( see images below ). At times it was tough but the sense of camaraderie amongst them all seemed to make the hours in the saddle an absolute joy.

They have also have raised an incredible amount of money for the charity Action Medical Research and they wish to thank all of you that have donated. There is plenty of time for those the haven't and they guess several people were waiting to see if they actually made it! Below are some images taken from their journey.

Fresh faced for the registration and onto the start at City Hall.

Phil was never far from Stef's back wheel. Also known in cycling terms as drafting !

92 miles of riding later they had reached Dover docks. 5 more to go in Calais before sleep.

Yes it was hot out there and yes it was discovered Phil tans rather easily!

The last leg of the journey. Slowest bit by far but worth it. 

This could be a smile or a grimace. Hard to tell with Stef sometimes but going to go with smile on this occasion. 

Its the classic bike lift shot but what the heck. Well done to the boys for making it.
