Our Wood Workshop is currently bustling with MA students representing Fine Art, Interior Design, Graphics and Textiles. Its a diverse and interesting bunch all working collectively under the one roof. Their time however draws nearer to an end with us and below are a selection of images taken from the past few days as they near completion.
Sam from MA ISD has worked extremely hard to build his chair. The results are looking very good.

Small Oak veneered MDF plinths gluing up
The side profile of Birch faced Ply makes for some great details. Here 18mm squares have been glued together before sanding, to form table legs.
This Styrofoam tunnel is being skinned on the inside with Birch skin ply to create a wooden look.
This very grand architectural model is nearing completion.

When the Birch skin ply had dried on the inside, the whole piece was run through the band saw to the desire angles that were required.

Golden Times
Another week goes by and at the London Olympics Team GB have even more gold medals. The MA students efforts here in the Wood Workshop have also been unrelenting. A lot of the work is now nearing completion and we are excited at the prospect of a really good show. Below are some images from the past few days.

The Home Stretch
So as August gets under way so the MA students here at Chelsea begin their last month before the degree show. We have enjoyed a steady stream of students with us in the Wood Workshop and some regular faces over the past months. Objects, furniture, models and other bits and pieces are gradually taking shape. Below are a few images taken this morning.
